Short Description

Hell Dive is a first-person horror game where you are a Maritime Operative alone aboard a submarine. Sent on a mission to revive an abandoned deep-sea colony, you uncover dark secrets as terrifying and deadly horrors await in its depths.

Description

Far beneath an icy ocean, Maritime Operative Daniel awakens alone aboard his submarine. His mission to revive COLONY 1265 – an abandoned deep-sea mining and research facility – takes a deadly turn as reactivated systems unveil fragments of its haunting past.

Guided only by VIRGIL, his AI companion, Daniel must navigate seven interconnected facilities scattered across the ocean floor, each step bringing him closer to a chilling truth hidden in the darkness. But some horrors are better left buried – something watches, something waits. Descend into the unknown. Revive the colony. Unearth the truth. And remember – survival is expected.

Features

  • Pilot your submarine through abandoned deep-sea Arctic facilities, now silent and filled with secrets.
  • Uncover the fate of the lost crew as you navigate the collapsing structures and malfunctioning systems.
  • Face the ever-present dangers of drowning, fire, and suffocation – but something else lurks in the depths.
  • Stay quiet. Stay unseen. There are things down here that were never meant to be found…

History

Hell Dive has been in production since September 2024 and was released as Teacup Games’ first self-published title on January 7, 2025. The game aims to capture the feel of mid-’90s titles with its retro-inspired graphics while delivering a slow-burn horror experience, one that leans more on eerie suspense than jumpscares.

After spending a year developing and refining the core gameplay of our action RPG, Woodland: Rise of the Tyrant, with strong interest from publishers, we hit a creative burnout. This led us to make a radical shift in direction, exploring something entirely new and fresh. The studio turned its focus toward horror, a genre unlike anything we had tackled before, and scoped the project in a way that made self-publishing feasible. The result was Hell Dive, a game born from this shift in vision, along with a wealth of lessons learned along the way.
